Week 6 Article 3- Denny

After reading the article about Iranian President-elect Hassan Rouhani, it seems that Iran has big internal issues in the office.  As the article states, current president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is provoking fights within the leadership and driving the economy into crisis.  It could mean that noone was agreeing with the presidents ideas and Ahmadinejad took it to the next level by fighting with everyone because he has the power.  In Iran’s current state, they seem to be headed for an economic down turn until Rouhani is officially in office.  The things he promised he would do, Iran would be headed into a prosperous direction.  Even so, Iran is currently in financial trouble because of a punishment imposed by the United Nations that limited their oil sales overseas, which resulted in a decrease in value of the Iranian currency.

I think that with the new president of Iran, they could make a turn for the better.  If Rouhani sticks to his word and works with law makers and other government officials, he will help Iran become a more reputable country than it is now.

Denny, I couldn’t agree more with the hopes of Rouhani raising Iran to a more reputable country. To hear that the current president is provoking fights within the leadership and not pursuing changes to better Iran makes me wonder why there wasn’t a overthrow sooner. Luckily, the people wont have to wait much longer but I’m definitely looking forward to being able to watch and see how Rouhani takes his presidency with time.
